As the major cultural and economic center of the Czech Republic, you’ll find a perfect mix of all the things you’re looking for in a study abroad destination – dynamic history and culture, charm, great food, and easy access to the Czech countryside and other European destinations. Course options at the CEA CAPA Prague Study Center span a variety of subject areas and include options in business, engineering, cultural studies, political science, communication, and sustainability. Semester students will also enroll in a 1-credit Czech Culture and Language course that is delivered in cooperation with Charles University.  This course is designed to foster a deeper understanding of local Czech life and will provide you with an introduction to the Czech language. Credits

Program Structure & Courses

Enroll in 1-2 CEA CAPA courses. Courses meet for 45 contact hours/3 credits. If you choose the 1-course option, you may earn 3 credits (up to 45 contact hours); in the 2-course option, you may earn 6 credits (up to 90 contact hours). 

Classes meet at various times, Monday-Thursday, occasionally classes are held on Fridays. Active learning components required by your courses may be scheduled for Fridays.

Prior to departure, you will select your preferred courses. You will be enrolled into courses based on their availability. It is in your best interest to have multiple alternative courses approved by your home university prior to your departure due to course availabilities. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.

Excursions

Get out and explore! Excursions are offered for most semester, year, and summer programs. Semester students are typically offered between two to three excursions and summer study students are typically offered between one to two excursions. You'll receive a calendar of excursions during orientation; here are a few day and overnight excursions we've offered in the past.

Arrival/Program Begins

Official Program Start Date. Students must arrive at the Václav Havel Prague Airport on this date in order to be eligible for airport pickup. Students will then be transferred to their assigned housing.

Orientation

Mandatory CEA CAPA Prague Centre Orientation will be held.

Classes Begin

Classes begin on this day.

Program Ends/Move-Out

Official Program End Date. Students must move out of housing no later than this day.
